Coordination and Management

Soward Management was extremely excited to be engaged to coordinate and manage the this wonderful event for a consecutive time in 2024.

Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation has been providing this event to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community in Canberra for over thirty years, under the leadership of Aunty Kim Davison, who retired in mid 2024.

Aunty Kim, her family and other recognised Aboriginal members of our Community who are sadly no longer with us have dedicated their lives to building a safe place for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and their families, delivering the essential services to all involved and ensuring our community feels heard, important, respected, supported and valued.

Joanne Lesiputty is now the Executive Director for Gugan Gulwan and has done a wonderful job at keeping this traditional event being delivered for our community.

The event coordination and management for this wonderful event for over 400 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families was done in partnership with the Gugan Gulwan & Winnunga Nimmityjah Event Team, lead by Aliesha.

Soward Management is always honoured to be engaged and work on events like this that have a massive impact on our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community.

Congratulations Gugan Gulwan and Winnunga Nimmityjah on another wonderful event!

Soward Management was honoured to be engaged to coordinate and manage this significant event for Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services and the Healing Foundation in May of 2024.

National Sorry Day is such an important day for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as it acknowledges the past injustices done to our people and the policies that were put in place regarding the forcible removals of our children and its ongoing impacts.

Aunty Julie Tongs is a vital leader in ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, advocating for change and recognition, for justice regarding Aboriginal Deaths in Custody and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Aunty Julie's passion and leadership of Winnunga Nimmityjah for over (enter timeframe) has been a pillar for our community and provided essential health and community services to our community

Event coordination and management for this massive event including working in partnership with both the EventsACT, ACT Government Roads & Transport Authority, the National Capital Authority and McLeod's Angles.

Soward Management's NAIDOC Elders Concert, Fashion Show & Dinner 2023

In 2023, Soward Management CEO Patrice Soward, decided it was time for us to give back to our Elders and celebrate NAIDOC week with a tribute to them and in special honour of Aunty Agnes Shea.

This event was designed and delivered under the creative direction of Patrice and her vision and love for music, fashion and food.

The purpose of the event was to bring together our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with a focus on the Elders, to enjoy a night of a three course meal, Aboriginal entertainment and an Aboriginal fashion show to top it off.
